Shata-shloki Ramayana chanting

If you are looking for personalized guidance and help to learn chanting of Shata Shloki Ramayana, then you are at the right place.

Shata-Shloki Ramayana is the first Sarga that appears in the Valmikeeya Ramayana. In this sarga Rishi Valmiki narrates the entire Ramayana to sage Narada in one hundred shlokas. 

In this course we will be teaching you to chant the Shata-Shloki Ramayana along with a few other important things that are chanted before and after the Ramayana. 

Eligibility:

  • Aged 15+ years and above.

  • Desire to chant the Ramayana in a short span of time yet being authentic.

  • Committed to attend classes regularly.

 

Course Details:

  • We guide students interested in learning to chant this text with proper Uccharana.

  • One-on-one sessions, meaning it is direct learning from tutor to student.

  • We also focus on Uccharana - Shuddhi - correct pronunciation.

  • Course will cover the entire text in Shuddha - Patha. 

  • This course does not offer the teaching of meanings for the text.

 

How it works:

  • Classes will be conducted online via Google Meet / WhatsApp.
  • Class timings will be planned based on students preference and the tutor’s availability

  • Typically we conduct classes twice a week, but if you are free and serious to spend the effort required, we can have classes 6 days a week too.

 

Duration

  • The Shatashloki Ramayana is a special text from the Valmiki Ramayana, encapsulating the entire story of Lord Rama in just 100 verses. It is, in fact, the first Sarga (chapter) of the Ramayana, designed to offer a concise yet profound way to chant and remember the Rama Katha in a meaningful manner.

    In this course, we will also teach the Mangalāshāsanam, a concluding chant recited at the end of the Shatashloki Ramayana to provide a smooth and auspicious conclusion.

  • Mastering the pronunciation and rhythm requires patience and dedication, and the time taken varies from student to student.

    This course is a commitment of at least 1 months. If you are ready to dedicate a7-10 hours to mastering the effortless chanting of the Shatashloki Ramayana, this course is for you.

    The learning process typically takes 10–15 classes (each 1 hour long), depending on the student's pace and availability. With 2–3 classes per week, the course duration generally spans 3 weeks to 1 month. Each session includes guided chanting and a Q&A segment to ensure clarity and understanding.

Student Support 

  • For support, Students can chat with the tutor throughout the course and even later via Email and WhatsApp chat.

 

Dakshina

  • The Dakshina per session is Rs 150.
  • One may choose to also pay the total Dakshina or Rs 1500 by the end of the month; also as the sessions complete.

 

About the tutor:

  • Veda Vinjamuri
    A member of core Sadha Team, with the blessings of her guru memorized all 700 shlokas of Bhagavad Geeta at a very young age. She is currently studying Ayurveda, Astrology and other subjects under various gurus. She spends her time researching on various topics related to Shastra, world history, cuisines and music. She is also an artist and manages a platform dedicated to spiritual art  called Rainbow Bridge.

 

Tutor’s note:

I learnt the Shata Shloki Ramayana during Chaitra Navaratri, year - 2019. There after, any event that called to remembering Rama, I would chant the Shata Shloki Ramayana as it took only about half an hour, additionally I was also taught few preliminary steps to chanting the text as well as a few steps to complete the recitation in an authentic and fruitful manner. I would like to share with you all the learning of this text in it's complete essence.
