This book is written in easy language representing comprehensive core Dharmic values/traditions of this great ancient country. The book is not a translation of the Vedas or a commentary on them, but provides an excellent introduction to the various texts and concepts that form the core of the Hindu scriptures and practices, by Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi (the previous head of the Kanchipuram matam, a much revered and learned scholar who was a powerhouse of knowledge on Hindu philosophy as well as a saintly soul). There is also a very useful table at the back of the book, which classifies the various important Hindu religious texts.
