Synchronicity

Synchronicity

Day two of Navaratri :)

Gardening has always been a family ritual in our home. A few days ago I and Amma planted a couple of hibiscus cuttings in our garden. Slowly I became aware of the amazing magic mother nature does in healing and breathing life back into broken things. This little cutting now placed into fertile soil will heal, grow small leaves and may be after a week or two, grow some flowers.

But this story wouldn't be about Synchronicity if it had no surprises right? Imagine, to our astonishment when within days, one of these young hibiscus cuttings, barely sporting a handful of leaves, revealed two gigantic and radiant pink flowers! The sheer delight shared between Amma and me was indescribable. We usually monitor our garden closely, eager for signs of new growth and budding blossoms. Yet, this extraordinary sight served as a captivating reminder that nature, is full of surprises. What the human eye missed was now a proof of the divine presence that exists whether we see it or not.

Amma says, rules apply where there are limitations, nature has none, hence she is beyond rules. How can we (a grain of sand in this vast universe) understand and comprehend the divine mother who represents everything we see and even that which we cannot?

We also often define how she works, even to the extent that we try to teach her, but she always reminds us of her spontaneity even in her rhythm. We assumed it would take a long time for these cuttings to grow and then bloom, but then here she is reminding us of her infinite abilities and possibilities.

Amma always made it a point to never pluck the only flower in a plant, this time we were lucky to have had two. She categorises plants in two types, some willing to give their flowers or fruits and others who hold on tight and refuse to let them go. Hibiscus is the giving variety. We set up the altar, lit the lamps and offered the large pink flower to the gods.

Our smiles soon turned into shock and astonishment when we spotted the exactly same looking flowers on TV ! Streaming LIVE from Sringeri Sharadamba Temple's Pooja for Sharada Devi. What we felt was beyond joy, that feeling which is hard to explain, even harder to forget. In simple words, we felt her presence everywhere, she controls everything, she, is everything.

You can see the flower offered in our home and the ones in the temple same day shown on tv in the photos.

In nature's grand design, everything unfolds in perfect synchrony, like a harmonious dance where everyone knows where to stand and what will be their next move. The sun rises and sets, gravity maintains its unwavering pull, and special celestial events such as Utsavas, Parvadinas, vishesha tithis (Special days) etc when the universal synchronicity is so evident that even our gross human mind could experience them as they occur across the world.

I wondered, there would be numerous such events occurring all across the world, so many heard and unheard, so many seen and unseen, so many intentional and also unintentional. But all was in accordance with the divine will. I was reminded of another name of the divine mother “Achintyarupa” - the one beyond comprehension, in simple words UNIMAGINABLE.
